2020 Toyota Corolla Announced

With over 46 million Toyota Corollas sold across the world since its introduction, we'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't recognize the brand or have a Corolla story of their own. That won't stop anyone from doing double-take when they see the newest Corolla and the way it's been reconfigured and re-imagined for the 2020 model year. Based on Toyota's New Global Architecture, or TNGA, the 2020 Toyota Corolla combines a new body structure with a new approach to design, material, assembly, and engineering. The TNGA platform promises to not only increase the Corolla's already impressive reliability, but also bring its comfort and refinement to a whole new level while also giving it feistier personality. With a bold new look, overall transformation, and an elevated feeling of overall quality the 2020 Toyota Corolla is ready to wow all comers.

A Reinvented Design

With a newly optimized driving position for improved comfort, just being behind the wheel of the 2020 Corolla sedan is going to feel different than anything that's come before it. Adding to that for more expansive outward visibility, the Corolla will feature repositioned side view mirrors, a reconfigured lower beltline, slimmer A-pillars, and a slimmer instrument panel. New seat designs that move away from the conventional square seatbacks give the interior a youthful, sporty appeal that all the while improves comfort. One thing you won't find inside the 2020 Corolla is noise. With a revised drivetrain and widespread implementation of sound-absorbing materials insulate noise penetration while enhancing air-sealing performance for one tranquil ride. Additionally, the 2020 Corolla knows there's a digital side to life and it's ready to pair with it. The Entune 3.0 Audio system the comes standard outfits your Corolla with an eight-inch customizable touchscreen, Apple and Alexa integration, six speakers, Wi-Fi Connect, an auxiliary audio jack, USB port, voice recognition, Bluetooth, as well weather and traffic updates.

A Whole New Platform

The base engine for the 2020 Corolla sedan will be a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FAE, though with improved fuel efficiency and horsepower from previous generations. At higher grades the Corolla will be powered by the new 2-liter Dynamic Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder M20-FKS engine. This new engine will not only deliver higher performance while using less fuel, but is actually lighter and smaller so that the Corolla's balance will be improved and center of gravity will be lowered. Thanks to this lower center of gravity, along with a super-rigid structure and refined suspension, the Corolla will have exemplary agility, handling, and comfort in ways that give it a distinct personality from any other vehicle.

Safety Guaranteed

With TNGA at its core, the 2020 Toyota Corolla delivers on Toyota's commitment to safety with the inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 as a standard system of safety features on every model. Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes a backup camera, enhanced stability control, smart stop technology, traction control, anti-locking brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, a pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist.
