2018 Toyota Tacoma Power & Handling

Toyota offers two engine options for the 2018 model year. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter inline-4 that produces 180 pound-feet of torque and 159 horsepower. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that can power the front wheels or four wheels. The EPA has estimated that the Tacoma, when powered by this engine and outfitted with 2WD, can get up to 23 miles when cruising on the highway! The second engine option is a 3.5-liter V6. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, this engine delivers 265 pound-feet of torque and 278 horsepower. If you opt for four-wheel drive this engine can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy estimates come in at 19/24 mpg city/highway. With the V6 engine, the Tacoma can haul up to 1,440 pounds in the bed and tow up to 6,800 pounds!

2018 Chevrolet Colorado Power & Handling

The Colorado offers three engine options for the 2018 model year. First is the standard 2.5-liter inline-4 that outputs 200 horsepower and is matched to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The second engine option is a 308 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 that is paired with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. The third engine option is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel inline-4 that produces 186 horsepower. This engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. 2WD is standard on all engines while 4WD is available.

2018 Toyota Tacoma Features & Design

The Tacoma is offered in six trim levels and over 30 configurations! Standard features include 16-inch steel wheels, a rearview camera on the tailgate's handle, Bluetooth connectivity, four-way adjustable cloth seats, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, a moveable cleat tie-down system, a USB port, sliding rear window, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. Higher trims come with features like power rear window, all-terrain tires, an in-bed 400-watt power outlet, a seven-inch touchscreen interface, driver information screen, and so much more!

2018 Chevrolet Colorado Features & Design

The Colorado is only offered in five trim levels for the 2018 model year. Standard features consist of 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, a tilt-only steering wheel, a rearview camera, vinyl upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, and more. The upper trim levels don't offer much more in the way of features. Instead you have to start opting for packages and stand-alone options to create the truck that you want and need.

The Colorado may offer more in terms of engine options and standard features but the Tacoma is way ahead in terms of reliability and safety! Plus it is way easier to gain the features that you want by opting for a higher trim level or a different body configuration rather than sorting through option packages and lists!
