The 2018 Toyota Corolla only comes with some smaller changes, as last year it has completely upgraded its safety features. The base trim for the Corolla is the LE. This LE trim comes with heated mirrors, 16-inch steel wheels, a rear armrest, automatic climate control, metallic cabin accents, remote locking and unlocking, and upgraded upholstery. The LE Eco brings in 15-inch steel wheels, enhanced aerodynamics, a rear spoiler, and suspension tuning that will help keep the fuel efficiency at its peak. The SE trim is slightly sportier with 17-inch alloy wheels, sport front seats, a rear spoiler, SofTex upholstery, and a sport-style gauge cluster. The top trim, the XSE, comes with heated front seats, paddle shifters, and an eight-way power adjustable driver seat. Additional packages are available for items like a navigation system, an upgraded infotainment system, a sunroof, and so much more.

What do the engines offer for fuel economy?

The first engine available is a 1.8-liter inline-4 with 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. This engine is capable of reaching a maximum EPA fuel economy rating of 28 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. The second engine is the same, but it is matched with equipment to help boost performance and fuel economy. This second engine is capable of 140 horsepower and 126 lb-ft of torque. It has a maximum EPA fuel economy rating of 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway. These engines are matched with either a continuously variable automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission dependent on the trim level.
