Used 2016 Toyota Camry at Thompson Toyota for Edgewood, MD

America's top-selling Toyota car tries to shed that stigma with bolder styling, upgraded interior trim and equipment, and minor chassis changes that will impress current owners, but don't tempt enthusiasts into the fold. Engines carry over: A 2.5 liter 4-cylinder is standard; a 3.5 liter V6 is optional. Either offers a 6-speed automatic; a manual is not available. There is also a hybrid model available. The XSE model aims at enthusiasts with a stiffer suspension and some extra style.

Under the Camry's Hood

Every trim of the 2016 Toyota Camry is customary with front wheel drive, a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. The XSE and XLE trims also offer a 3.5 liter V6 rated at 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. An XLE V6 sprinted to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds in our testing, a quick result for this class of vehicle with an upgraded engine. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the four-cylinder engine is 28 mpg combined, a few mpg behind the 4-cylinder Mazda 6 and Honda Accord.

The V6's EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25 mpg combined is about average compared to rival V6 engines. There is also an electric motor. Its total strength together will be 200 horsepower. By going with the 6-cylinder Camry V6 over the 4-cylinder car, you're not giving too much to the EPA-rated fuel efficiency, as long as you don't use all all of the horsepower at every stoplight. The 2016 Camry V6's decent 21/31 mpg city/highway isn't much lower than the 178-horsepower Camry I-4's 25/35 mpg figures, though you do lose 68 miles of overall highway range.

Because the Camry V6 can go 527 miles on the highway before needing to refuel, typical for cars in this class, you will need a break before the car does. The drivetrain tunnel is nearly flat, meaning there's more usable space on those rare occasions when the back seat is actually filled with three people. Overall, the Camry's interior is useful and has upscale touches, but no one will ever confuse this for an entry-level luxury car.

Design of Toyota Camry

The 2016 Toyota Camry interior looks stylish, with comfortable seats that characteristic black bolster and blue decorative inserts. They as well get the similar blue accent edging that appear on the shift boot as well as the dashboard. Keyless entrance and push-button begin are present-no surprise here, as they are regular subject on the SE-as is Toyota's Qi wireless charge. The Special Edition rank doesn't expand to the powertrain, as this Camry makes due with the similar 2.5 liter four-banger as well as six-speed automatic broadcast-no hybrid or else V-6 accessible here-that motivate its less-special brethren.

This very suitable family car, as well as business sedan is suitable for the open road but also very good for the city crowds. This model will be characterized by a comfortable cabin and a powerful and economical engine. Special touch is given to the design of interior and exterior. It will be far more elegant and luxurious then it's predecessor. Some of the biggest changes of this vehicle are front headlamps and taillights. 2016 Toyota Camry will have a little bit aggressive look with front auto-leveling running LED lights. The Camry is a few inches longer, compared with predecessor.

The most noticeable modification will be Camry's wider and trapezoidal grille which adds to this car more aggressive appearance. With combination of technology improvements and design innovations, the interior of 2016 Toyota Camry will have many changes. Advanced interior materials, dashboard with high tech looking center stack, wireless charging, USB and Bluetooth connectivity are some of these improvements. The 2016 Toyota Camry will offer a couple of active safety measures. It will include: lane departure alert, rear cross traffic and pre collision system with high auto beams and blind spot monitoring.

Toyota did a good job enhancing the SE with this Special Edition. The exterior looks better and the interior features are nice to have. It's a shame overall performance remains unchanged, but that's to be expected - more power would bump up the price significantly and a stiffer suspension might spoil those easy going highway ride characteristics.

The Camry offers the usual array of standard safety equipment, including 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, side-curtain airbags, a backup camera and front and rear side airbags. High-tech safety options include rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, a forward-collision alert system and adaptive high beam headlights.
