  1. TTORC Pine Barrens NJ 4/20/2008
    Date Posted: 5/6/2008

    Narrated by Matt Edwards

Ben and I met up around 7:30AM and drove to Wharton State Forest (AKA The Pine Barrens) in New Jersey. My Dad came with me to keep me company and enjoy the Off-Road fun. We arrived around 9:30AM and joined up with our guide, Gordon (nick name: Red Rover) and the FJ Bruisers.

The trails were mostly sand with a bunch of muddy puddles. Some were very deep.

There were go-arounds to bypass the deep puddles if you choose to.

We found a really fun hill. I don't think I could have made it up if it were raining.

I climbed in Ben's yellow FJ Cruiser to ride along down and back up the hill.

This trip was a great time. Almost everybody got stuck once or twice.

The Pine Barrens is a real challange. Its also a beautiful piece of nature. I wish it were a lot closer to home, so I could visit it every week.

  1. TTORC W.Trails Road 1/13/2008
    Date Posted: 4/7/2008

A trail ride was planned for W.Trails Rd., and as usual, I was running late(waiting for babysitter). Fortunately, I was able to coordinate, via phones, some members to meet at the dealership, and then meet the rest at WAWA on RT.1 & RT.136.

My Wife and I met up with everyone on the trail.
Those in attendance were as follows:
-JD and Robin Eskelson in they're black cherry FJ Cruiser,
-Ben Meddows in his sun fusion yellow FJ Cruiser,
-Vince Urbanski in his silver Tacoma TRD,
-Matt Edwards in his black Tacoma TRD,
-Jay & Kateryna Heath in our white Tacoma

Due to being late, we missed some more extreme wheeling done by Ben in his awesome FJ Cruiser. We did make it in time to join in on most of the days fun. We climbed an extremely rocky part of the trail then turned around and came back down. This took some driver skill combined with vehicle ability.

The sun set on us while we were having fun so climbing out became interesting and challenging.

This trail caused some minor damage to skid plates and my rear bumper.

We have to get back out there once every ones trucks are lifted.

  1. TTORC Green Ridge Nov 2007
    Date Posted: 3/26/2008

I was running late on the morning of the 1st TTORC trail ride. I meet with Robin and her dog Toffee about 7:00AM as planned. Then I had to drop my kids off at my mothers for the day. After a late start, my wife, myself, Robin and Toffee drove to Green Ridge State Forest. We entered the trail around 10:30 AM.

A couple of miles in we decided to air down the tires for a softer ride. Toffee made things interesting by running about 8 miles of the trail next to the trucks.

We even got a chance to play in mud puddles.

At the end of our day in the woods, we cleaned our under carriages crossing a stream.

What a blast. We look forward to many more trail rides.
